Preserving Ford Performance History
Project 1903 is a privately owned collection dedicated to the preservation of historically significant Ford competition, RS and performance vehicles.
The collection has been assembled over many years with a singular philosophy:
Authenticity above all else.
Every vehicle within Project 1903 has been selected not simply for rarity, but for provenance, originality, historical importance and documentation. All of our vehicles are verified matching-numbers examples retaining their original shells, factory stampings and period-correct components, supported by extensive photographic archives, ownership history, motorsport imagery and factory documentation.
The collection includes:
Works rally cars
Touring cars
Homologation specials
Press vehicles
Preservation-grade RS models
Historically important road and competition Fords
Several vehicles retain direct historical associations with some of the most important names in Ford motorsport history, including:
Colin McRae
Carlos Sainz
Ari Vatanen
Hannu Mikkola
Björn Waldegård
Malcolm Wilson
Tim Harvey
The collection also includes exceptionally original low-owner survivor cars, including multiple one and two-owner examples preserved in highly original condition with verified mileage, original paintwork and extensive ownership history.
Project 1903 focuses heavily on:
Verified provenance
Originality and preservation
Historically correct restoration
Period documentation
Original shell verification
Matching numbers
Climate-controlled storage
Mechanical preservation and turnkey maintenance
Many vehicles within the collection remain unrestored or retain substantial original finishes, while restored examples have been sympathetically rebuilt with careful attention paid to preserving original shells, identity and historical integrity.
The archive surrounding the collection is equally important. Many vehicles are accompanied by extensive period photography, motorsport imagery, restoration records, ownership documentation and historical media tracing the cars throughout their lives.
The collection is not publicly exhibited on a permanent basis. Selected vehicles may occasionally appear at significant automotive or motorsport events.
Project 1903 continues to evolve carefully and privately, with the long-term objective of preserving an important part of Ford performance heritage for future generations.
“History can only remain original once.”
